Filming Blog: Outside at the Park

I am back again and actually ready to film. I did go with the idea to change my location to the park. The reason I did go through with it was because they indeed did not move their huge machines. The construction workers also came back then left again this morning after waking my whole house up. I don’t have the power to stop them so I must work around them, the show has to go on! When I arrived at the park the first thing I did was stay outside the gate and film around the area so I could get the establishing shots. It did not take long for me to film it, the only thing I needed to do was wait for some cars to pass by. After filming the establishing shots, I went inside the gate and immediately looked for an area that didn’t have a lot of shade. Which was unfortunate for me because it gets insanely hot during the afternoon in south Florida. I made sure there was no trash or an excess amount of leaves on the ground. I grabbed my mother from the car so she could be my camera woman for the day. We began filming scene 3-5.

Scene 3 was almost as easy as filming the establishing shots. All I had to do was pan the camera up and make sure not to go too slow or too fast, but if one were to happen, I could always slow it down. That scene will be the one that shows the name of the movie, so it needs to be good, so the colors don’t contrast.

Scene 4 is the close-up on my face while I'm wearing my headphones. I had mention to my camera woman that the camera needs to be perfectly in the center of me and to make sure she got everything from around my collarbone and up. I had to make sure I was wearing the right clothing because my ideal place to put the titles were either on the bottom left or right.

Scene 5 is an over the shoulder shot that shows me turning the music down on my phone. For my acting, I had to be over dramatic with my movements so the camera could pick up on them. I had to get creative and use my old phone as a prop, since I had to film with my actual phone.
