Production Blog: Action!

Another day, another dollar - Wynn Stewart. I woke up early Sunday to start preparing my process to film. I charged my ring light, changed my light bulbs and sweep. After my ring light finished charging I was finally able to begin. I did run into some technical difficulties for the first scene. Since my first scene's camera angle is a bird's eye view, I had to get creative and put the camera on top of the fan. The difficulty with that was when I placed the camera on top of the fan, it would start moving. It took me 5 takes to shoot this one scene. Even after those 5 takes, I did it 2 more times because the lighting was not cooperating with me.

After the first scene I began to prepare for the next scene, which is in the bathroom. I did almost the same process, I cleaned the mirror, wiped down the counters and dusted the lightbulbs. I brought in my ringlight but it would stand still on the counter because there was no grip. I had to use a thick towel so it would stay upright. The camera shot for scene 2 is a medium shot, so I think big and put the camera were it would show from waist up to the top of my head. Using what I had advaliable, I moved the toothbrush holder to the corner of the counter and placed the phone against it. It worked out well because the ringlight was right next to it, so the lighting was right in my face. It took me only 3 takes to complete the scene. The first time I had to restart because I messed up my lines. The second time was because I kept laughing too much and had this huge smirk on my face, the 3rd time was really good, 3rd try is a charm.

The next scene was the car scene, everything was already clean from last time. I decided not to use a ring light and instead just use the natural lighting. Although I had to stop my recordig right there because I didnt have anyone to record me at the time since it is an over the shoulder shot, so I decided to resume it on my next scheduled recording day.
