Today I'll start editing the 1st half of my movie since that's about how much I have filmed. I am going to use the same apps I used last year for my opening scene project. Those apps are capcut and iMovie. Due to my prior experience, this year's editing should be smooth sailing since I know the nooks and crannies.
But of course, its never a day in my life where something doesn't go as exactly planned.
This will be my 2nd time using iMovie, its a very basic app and doesn't take to much time to learn how to do everything. The layout is much simpler compared to capcut, so this is what ill be using to create the "base". I added a few transitions like a few fades here and there, but I didn't do too much. Firstly because there arent many to chose from, atleast on my phone. Secondly, is because I plan on adding more when I get to Capcut.
After my base was complete, I switched over to Capcut to put on the meat and veggies aka the details. I first checked to make sure everything transfered good and that there were no glitches or random cuts. After that I first began with the audio, during the opening I wanted to use a non copy right song that would match the vibe. I put a temporary song in, but I might change it later because I could not come to a decision. Second I added sound effects such as the phone ringing once Harper gets a phone call. At first I couldn't find out where to insert it, but I eveventually found it.
Next I went to google, went on the font website and copied the font type I wanted to use for my film. After I copied it I went back onto Capcut and went to "Text" and pasted the wording with the font into the text box. This wasn't difficult as I was already familar with doing this. The only thing Im kind of going back and forth on is the color for the font, my options are either blue or yellow, or do both but alternate them. As for right now I kept the wording blue, but it may change when I go edit the second half of the film.
That was the last thing I did, as I didn't want to clip or change the speed of any clips before the whole editing process was done. I wanted to see how long the film would be without the clipping.
