Title research - Get Out

This is the film Get Out (2017) from the website artofthetitle.com

What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?

-The first title slides are the film production companies. Next is the producer. Then its the name of the film. After the film's name, the starring cast is shown. After the cast titles, what's next is the casting director, music supervisor, music by, costume designer, edited by, production designer, director of photography, co producers, executive producers, produced by and then finally written and directed by.

What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?

-In the beginning it starts by showing a man packing his stuff in a car and then leaving. The next scene is a forest type scenery, almost as if the car from the first scene is driving away from somewhere. The next scene are pictures or artwork that are Cleary taken from a black urban area. Then it transitions into the man's apartment showing him do his morning routine and uses a cross cutting technique to show another lady doing her morning activities.

How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

-Honestly this may have been the best opening scene I've ever seen. It brought out all types of feelings and emotions. I could feel the energy shift because of the 3 different songs. The first song reminded me of tom and jerry, cat and mouse song, making me feel eerie. The second song was very intense and had me feeling anticipated because it kept saying ‘brother run” and what sounded like “get me out. The last song, Redbone made me feel a more lighthearted vibe, unlike the second song. It gave me a sense of home along with the visuals behind the song, that were in a greyscale colorway.
