Since I decided to work by myself, I have nobody to split the editing up. Lucky for me, I have some type of experience with editing the videos I've filmed. Unfortnaly I wasn't able to film Target or Walmart, but I did end up buying a mask to wear. My "back up dancers" were also able to get a costume to wear for my video. I filmed it during one of my production days and now I am editing it. I did have to trim some of the video off because then the video would have been overtime. I made sure there were no awkward cuts that would affect the next scene. After triming the video I added all of the scenes in, because I only had 4 at first. Except I didnt put in 2 scenes until I finished, because sadly I had to reshoot them since they were a little to long. I would have trimed it like the other scene but it wasnt in a good postion to be trimed, the cut would have been gappy.
Having to re-shoot was definitely sad because the time spent doint that, I could have been editing. Altough it is unfortunate it had to be done before the sun went down. After I reshot the 2 scenes, I added them back into the video. Finally from there I was able to move on and finishes editing. For my editing I didn't want it to be too flashy or dramatic, so I avoiding putting in transitions in were they weren't needed unless necessary. I wanted the visuals to really capture the attention instead of the edit. Plus most music videos from the same genre are around the same era, didnt have any dramatic edits, it was really the visuals and camera movement that took the audience away. I did have to speed up a few of the scenes so it could catch up with the beat. I also had to slow down 1 scene, which was hardly noticable because it wasnt a dramatic change and was easy to apply. After I was completly done editing, I felt a moment of euphoria and bliss from finally being able to be done, altough it was an enjoyable experience it was definitely tiring. Atlast I made sure to triple check for any errors and mistakes I may have made.
